Development of Optical Modulator
with Superconducting Resonance Eletrodes
[Abstract]
@ Sub-carrier transmission system in which microwave signal is carried
by light wave has been proposed recently. For this application, we are
studying a low voltage optical modulator employing superconducting resonant-type
electrodes. It is clarified that modulation signal bigger than input signal
can be raised by introducing impedance matching circuit for electrodes.
Furthermore, by using superconductor with high Q-factor, it is realized
driving voltage can be suppressed. And we carried out preliminary study
employing high-temperature superconductor electrodes.
